This week we recommend you visit lively the Food and Drink Fair in Carratraca to be on Saturday and Sunday the 14th & 15th of June. This year’s event will have surprise activities, competitions, tastings, pastry workshops, live performances from the Verdiales Pandasas well as tapas and typical dishes of the area, and drinks.
The visitor will find in a large number of lavish and varied handicrafts and varied food products for tasting .

Carratraca is a town worth visiting in itself, where its neighbours attach special value to their craft traditions, caring and proudly displaying them. On a tour through the historic streets, of this village of Arab origin, you can see beautiful pieces made from esparto grass, stone or wood carved with different patterns and paintings.

The Village of Carratraca is known for its spring water as a source of health or a source of life, it is on the border with the mountainous region of Ronda and Antequera, formerly was a gateway to the Guadalhorce valley. Probably due to its strategic location, in the nineteenth century it was reported that there were sulphurous waters, had healing properties something that the Romans already knew.
In 1851 the waters were declared for public use and in 1855 The Spa Carratraca opened, built under the orders of Ferdinand VII in a neoclassical style, which has been renovated and remodelled, today it continues to welcome through its doors to numerous visitors.

Continuing with this third edition of the Food & Drink Fair – which aims to show case our most popular cuisine from Carratraca and the Andalusian tapas and the regional recipes – many artisans and merchants will offer these items and specialties of the Andalusian cuisine, and other typical products of the area , which is one of the finest places of the region for tapas and fine food.
